To-do List

Alvis Personal App for Tasks, Lists and Everyday To-dos

About this app

To-do List puts what you need to do on your phone, in the order you need it: overdue first, then today, then what's coming — and it gets out of the way once a task is done.

For busy people juggling work, home, the kids' school and a sideline. It opens like an app: a home screen, a tab bar, the camera and "Use my location".

At a glance

  • Overdue, Due today and Done this week as three tiles
  • Overdue and Today lists: tap a task's box to finish it; each shows its time and list
  • Quick actions: a new task, a new list, Upcoming, Done
  • Your busiest list and your lists as swipeable cards with what's left, done and late

1. Today, Upcoming and Done

Three screens under one tab strip. Today: late, due and done today, with priority chips. Upcoming: from tomorrow on, a chip per list. Done: what you finished in a week, month or year, how much on time.

Today: overdue first, then todayOnly the high-priority tasksUpcoming, for one listWhat you got done

2. Every task, and your lists

The All tasks tab shows every open task: overdue, today, coming up and someday, with a chip per list. Your copy starts with four lists (Work, Home, Errands, Personal); add one for a project, a trip or a party.

  • Archive a list when it's over: it keeps its tasks but takes no new ones
  • Print a checklist of a list's open tasks, with boxes to tick on paper

3. Tasks with steps

Break a big task into steps: on the task's page they are a checklist you tick right there, and the task shows "2 of 3 steps" and a progress bar. A task has a due date and time, a priority, tags and notes.

  • Done locks the task with the day you finished it; Reopen brings it back
  • Cancel the ones you decided not to do

4. Repeating tasks and reminders

Repeat a task every day, week, two weeks, month, three months or year. Finish it and the next one is made, steps unticked. A daily task you finish late comes back today, not for a day already gone. A monthly task from the 31st moves to a shorter month's last day and stays there.

  • Skip one: cancel this week's grocery run and next week's still comes. To stop a series, set Repeat to Never first
  • Reminders on the day, a day before or a week before, at 7:30 AM, in the app's bell (not a phone push)
  • Overdue is worked out from today's date, so it is never stale; the morning after its day, a still-open task sends one notice

5. Made for the phone

  • Photo from the camera: the thing to fix, the item to buy
  • Scan a parcel's or a bill's barcode into the reference number
  • Where: tap "Use my location" to remember where an errand is

6. Stats and reports

Open and late tasks, done this month, done per week and by list. Reports: open by due date, overdue, done, done per list, lists at a glance, repeating tasks.

Private: your records are yours alone

Each person you invite as Me sees only their own lists, tasks and steps and gets only their own reminders. They start with no lists: their home offers Make your first list. Lists, tasks and steps are private tables: the workspace's own members (owner, admins, builders, viewers) also see only the rows they made themselves, not anyone else's.

Share one list, read-only, by typing someone's email in Share with: invited as Viewer, they see only the lists shared with them, those lists' tasks and their steps. Move a task to another list, or clear Share with, and it leaves them at once.

The Me and Viewer roles

What it doesn't do

No lists two people edit, no sharing a single task, no assigning tasks, no calendar sync. Reminders come at 7:30, not at the task's time. No repeating on chosen weekdays.

Getting started

  1. Look over the starter lists and add your own.
  2. Add what's on your mind; leave the date empty for "someday".
  3. Set bills and chores to repeat, with a reminder for the ones you forget.
  4. Each morning: overdue first, then today. Tick them off as you go.
